Welcome to my depository of random thoughts and strangeness that I stumble upon every so often.

Street Music
Recently every morning I pass this guy, playing his saxophone on the street corner.  I felt kinda weird taking a photo of him, so I took this over my shoulder, which probably looked just as strange to the people walking toward me.  I’ve only ever heard him play some jazz runs and trills, but no melodies. It feels very disjointed. Would he get more tips if he were to play something recognizable? Or is it my ears at fault, not used to listening to what the man hears as music?  How frequently do we experience something that makes us uncomfortable, but set in the proper context it would be completely fine and ordinary?

This shot is from the morning dog walk. Usually the walk is just Cooper and I, listening to the quiet of the neighborhood.  Lately, Caigh wants to come along, and these walks give us some alone time that we otherwise don’t get because of work, etc.  I thought it would be a good shot to run ahead and get them as they cross the sunlight peeking through the shadows.  What I didn’t realize was that when I ran ahead of them, he thought it was a game and tried to catch up.
I’ve been really inspired by Leo’s Fist full of Film, chronicling his life through (traditional film) images.  Anyway, I figured i would try a “Photo of the Day” for a while. This, along with my infrequent twitter and facebook status updates should give you an idea on how routine my days are.
